Top 10 Reasons why we are Camping Advisers:
- Our basement/storage area was empty and it needed remodeling,
why not camp equipment!
- We get to wear nifty hats
- We love the smell of calamine lotion and bug spray
- We love filling out paperwork
- We are in it for the crafts and crests
- We are allergic to house chores and needed an excuse to get
away
- We love tying ourselves up in knots trying to put up tarps
& make gadgets
- Rain is our favourite type of weather
- Cooking over a campfire is the only way to cook
- It only takes an hour a week!
Camping Tip of the Month
"Old Timer's Camp Programming Hints"
- change the clocks back one or two hours (camp time) so that it gets dark at 10 pm approximately.
Young people will stay up until it gets dark, but sleep in the morning in dark or light. Also better for campfire & night wide games.
- some campers enjoy a 'before breakfast swim' (or dip) while for others this is pure torture.
Those who wish to do so could be accommodated while the others can wait until 11 o'clock or noon.
campers should receive recipes when issued food. Fun is heightened and cooking skills enhanced if
several different recipes for the same food are included, so that camp groups have a real chance.
Life in camp like life everywhere, revolves around eating & sleeping, only you need more of both in camp!
